the 301 Best Films of All Time

Not ranked these are most certainly the top films of all time.

I tried to make a list of 100, but it was dificult at best, and it left out so many great films I just kept going until I started getting to where I couldn't think of any more films to add to the list. I then tried to stop at 200, then 250, then 300 and finaly added just one more film to make it 301!

There are many reasons for being on the list & in some cases it becomes more than just the quality of the film itself. Steamboat Willie is the introduction of one of the most enduring film characters in history (Mickey Mouse) and achieves it's presence here with that addition to being an excellent film cartoon. The Jazz Singer, A Wild Hare, Frankenstein & a number of other films are boosted by similar events. Of course every film on the list is a wonderful film on it's own.

I could not possibly rank them in order but in my opinion, the single best film of all time has got to be William Wyler's epic gladiator flic "Ben Hur" with Charlton Heston in the title role and the film has the best film sequence of all time with the legendary Chariot Race.
